There is both the Intensive Outpatient Program as well as Outpatient Program. Both IOP and OP have 12 step modalities, individual and group therapy, as well as a mentorship component. Mentorship is available for both OP (Outpatient Program) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program). Sobertec understands that academic progress is often challenged and impeded by addiction. Various programs are available for students planning to continue their education while learning to maintain a lifestyle of sobriety. There is one-on-one counseling available to support each client in attaining their academic goals with services such as: counseling for life skills, academic counseling, help with college applications, study time/tutoring, transportation to and from campus, help with registration, help with job searching, and simulated job interviews. Not only will we help you with getting sober, we will also help you with with getting a head start with your academic and career path.
The outpatient program is geared for clients who have established a period of sobriety, and once stabilized, participate in a lower level of care to build on what they have learned from the Sobertec IOP program or from a different facility.
The outpatient program is a live-in transitional work/school program. Clients are given the option to go to school, work, or function in their daily lives while also benefitting from flexibly structured programming in the morning or evening. This program is designed for individuals who would not like to take a break/hiatus from work or school for recovery and achieve recovery in a typical life setting.
Therapists build off of the treatment plan created by the clients and the case manager. They use different therapeutic techniques to go more in depth into the client’s past, present, and future goals. The primary goal of the outpatient program is reintegration into society and focusing on education and/or employment.
Treatment requires the client to attend group therapy 6 hours per week and also attend 1 hour per week for an individual session with a therapist, and can meet with a case manager, as needed. At Sobertec, we understand the importance of not undertreating nor over-treating clients. The client’s goals are geared toward self-sufficiency and reintegration into society.
The main focus is on budgeting, learning life skills, building resumes, and learning how to handle the everyday stressors of life outside of treatment. The Sobertec outpatient program is geared for clients looking to relocate to southern California, which is a hot bed for recovery with over 3,000 12-step meetings a week. The Outpatient Program is designed for people who have their own car or are comfortable using local transit and can commute to places.
We help you to continue building a fellowship in the local recovery community.
Sobertec’s program director as well as additional staff will write to court systems, judges, etc. to inform them on the progress the individual has made, as well as go over the assessments, therapy, and testing results that the individual has completed.
